Start at Augustiner Keller, one of Munich's oldest and most beloved beer gardens. It’s traditional Bavarian at its best, with long tables, vaulted ceilings, twinkling lights, steins, sausages, and people having the time of their lives.
Then there’s Theresienwiese, the spiritual home of Oktoberfest. It’s a fairground, free to enter, and where the festival really comes alive. Float through the various beer tents, carnival rides, and food stalls. Lederhosen encouraged.
When you’re winding down, make your way back to The Dean Munich to sink into one of our soothing guest rooms. If you need something to settle you for the night, our in-house Japanese restaurant, Ibasho, is one of the city’s best.

Location
The Dean Munich is around 15 minutes on foot from the main Oktoberfest grounds at Theresienwiese, making it a convenient base for enjoying the festival without staying right in the busiest part of the city.
From the Airport
Munich Airport is about 40 minutes by train or 28 minutes by car from our door. The S-Bahn runs every 15 minutes directly from the airport to Donnersbergerbrücke, which is the closest station to Landsberger Strasse.
By train
The closest tram station is Schrenkstrasse, a very short walk from the hotel. The closest S-Bahn station is Donnersbergerbrücke, 500 metres from our door.
