Our Berlin home, officially warmed.

Mar 20, 2026

On March 19th, we officially opened The Dean Berlin. And what better way to do that than with a housewarming party.

Berlin DJs ChewChew and Spencer Parker played through the night on a custom-painted Void soundsystem. The room had that kind of energy where no one was checking the time or looking at their phones. From there, guests moved through the hotel, curiosity piquing as they were drawn up the stairs by the suspicion that something very interesting might be happening on the next floor up.

And it was, with each floor featuring its own vibe. Martion hosted the Listening Room, with live performances from avant-garde Berlin-based experimental musician Jeannel, Nigerian-born, Irish-raised singer Toshín, German electronic musicians and producers Arno Völkers, Ole Schulte, and Boris Bergmann in an intimate setting.

The Recording Room hosted open jam sessions with Cromby (Ireland/Germany), RegularFantasy (Canada), and Cecilia Tosh (Germany), while the Art Salon, hosted by Der Greif, showed work from Justus Lemm (Germany), Carola Lampe (Germany), Daniel Paramio (Germany), Monika Keiler (Germany), and Piotr Pietrus (Germany) in a reflective space. Enes Cevik's Ysëe Dökme Berlin atelier invited guests to interact with garments and contribute to a piece over the course of the evening.

The Playroom, hosted by Berlin’s Bad Dad and Game Noir, leaned into good old family fun, with extremely entertaining parlour games. Down in the basement, the Overhearing Reality audio installation by Secret Universe played fragments of real Berlin conversations into the room. Guests were invited to respond by writing directly onto mirrors with lipstick. By midnight, there wasn't a clear inch left.

We must also mention Room 320, which not everyone found. Inside, The Gunjan sat bedazzled in her robe, reading tarot cards and humoring guests with a little game involving our curtains and some strong libations (thank you Patron). We'll leave it at that.

Photos, shot by Szymon Stepniak, from the night are here, thanks to everyone who came through and made it what it was. It was one night, but absolutely not a one-off. This is the spirit of the hotel, set in motion. Our doors are open, our house is warmed. Come on in.
